Interview with Walter De Luna CEO of Ibero Capital Management:

Created by professionals with extensive experience in the real estate and financial markets, Ibero Capital Management offers alternative financing solutions to real estate developments in Spain.

What led you to create Ibero Capital Management? You have an agreement signed with the Oak Hill Advisors investment fund… Yes. As of 2015 we began to see that a lot of capital was lacking from the real estate development industry, as a direct consequence of the crisis. There were many survivors, but that survival came at a slimming cost.

Additionally, after the crisis banks were being much more restrictive when granting financing. In this context, we saw the opportunity to create a financing fund for developers, which was reflected in our management agreement signed with Oak Hill Advisors, with 400 million euros dedicated to this investment strategy.

You created a financing fund for promoters … Yes, that was almost two years ago, during which time our investment thesis has been confirmed with the many proposals presented to us, from which we obviously selected those that were most appropriate for us. In just two years, we have positioned ourselves as one of the leaders in alternative financing in Spain.
